Cleaning

The grease, dust, lubricant and organic matter adhered to the surface of the steel pipe are generally cleaned with solvent and emulsion. However, the rust, oxide scale and welding slag on the surface of the steel pipe cannot be removed, and other treatment methods are needed.

Derusting from east to west

Steel pipe surface oxide scale, rust and welding slag can be cleaned and polished with wire brush. The east-west derusting can be divided into manual and power. The manual east-west derusting can reach Sa2, and the power east-west derusting can reach Sa3. If the surface of the steel pipe is attached with a particularly strong oxide skin, it may not be cleaned by means of rust removal, and other methods need to be found.

Acid pickling

Common pickling includes chemical and electrolytic methods. However, only chemical pickling is used for pipeline corrosion protection. Chemical pickling can reach a certain degree of cleanliness and roughness on the surface of the steel pipe and facilitate subsequent anchor lines. Generally, it is used for reprocessing after shot blasting (sand).

Shot blasting for rust removal

The blade is driven by a high-power motor to rotate at high speed, so that the steel sand, steel shot, iron wire segment, minerals and other abrasives can spray and blast the surface of the steel pipe under the effect of centrifugal force. On the one hand, the rust, oxide and dirt can be completely removed, and on the other hand, the steel pipe can reach the required uniform roughness under the effect of strong impact and friction of the abrasive.
